THE GROUP
The Group was created in 2012. It has been thought of as a place where Portuguese speakers and learners — as well as anyone interested in the Portuguese language and Portuguese speaking cultures — can connect, exchange their knowledge and share their interests.
WHO SHOULD JOIN
Native Portuguese speakers, learners of Portuguese, expats, Portuguese speaking cultures enthusiasts...
This group is for those who speak or are learning Portuguese and would like an environment to practice the language. It is also for those who want to make connections with people who share these interests.
Please join this group if you would like to have more opportunities to practice your Portuguese skills by talking to native speakers or other learners and participating in fun events with the members.
WHY TO JOIN
This group is about sharing a good time and making connections. Having a chance to meet new people who you might relate to is always fun! It is about getting to know people, sharing information, news, knowledge, resources, ideas... and gathering for activities and events that range from more structured learning opportunities to more easygoing, hang out-and-have-fun endeavors!
Learning a second language is not an easy task. It is very important to practice the language by communicating in settings as close as possible to those in real life. The events in this group will be an incredible opportunity for this practice.
THE LEAD ORGANIZER
Since November 2014 this group has Susan Gobbo & Mauricio Gobbo as lead organizers. Susan & Mauricio are Brazilians living in US since 2005. They moved into St Louis in 2008. Susan is a passionate about languages and cross-cultural matters. Mauricio loves St Louis and is all about working to make this community an even better place than it is already.
