For the sixth year, Shakespeare in the Park has been the official launch of summer fun for my friends and family. This year we're planning on an evening of outdoor culture and live theater on Sat. June 9th. What is Shakespeare in the Park? It a professionally performed live theatrical production of Shakespeare (This year is Othello). It's held in Forest Park across from the Art Museum. Each year thousands of people bring blankets, pillows and food and drinks and enjoy a picnic and then lie back and watch the incredible performance under the stars. Here's the best part...IT'S FREE! Each year a group of us brings coolers and food and we have like a tail gate party but without the tailgate. It's a family friendly event and those who have participated in the past, always come back because it's such an unique and fun experience. The show doesn't start until 8 pm but it gets so crowded that you have to get there way early to get a place up front. Mark your calendars, hit the attend button and I'll see ya there, bring others or come by yourself, everyone is welcomed....And by the way....we had a blast last weekend Contra Dancing...we'll be doing it again and we'll also be going to the Drive-in soon too so keep your eyes opened!
