Loads of good info. Laid back format. I especially liked the advice about blocking the main drain to prevent sewage-back-up when necessary.

I was just talking to someone about that. :-) a constuction guy. he said there may be something that serves the same purpose. Some kind of 1-way flow valve that could be installed a backflow preventer. I'm going to check with a plumber.

I really enjoyed this meetup, especially as an individual who does not do much camping or other outdoor activities. I found the information presented regarding how to gather and create clean water to be powerful skills to learn - skills that will definitely come in handy if faced in a grid down situation and supplies run out.

At the end of the meeting, I mentioned the following website for researching NJ water quality, and posting here for those interested

This was my first Meetup with Survive and Thrive. I'll definitely be coming back for more. The water discussion was excellent and I learned quite a bit, including very practical and easy methods to gather or clean water. I'm very interested now to try some of these techniques on my own., and share this information with others.

I am delighted with the clear and entertaining way in which Fernando is able to clearly impart good, practical knowledge and information. What could be more mundane, and more important to our well being than clean, clear water.

Okay, I hope this question goes through okay. When you spoke on bad stuff coming out of your kitchen faucet and to search for the pipe outside that controls or is causing the problem, but where do you search for the pipe if you're in an apartment building?

Not enough time to really get all of the iformation needed. But I learned and educated about water, some things I knew and other things I was not aware of.

Fernando, you talked about looking for a pipe outside the home when bad stuff is coining out of your kitchen faucet, but what pipe do you look or search for if you are living in an apartmeap

Really made you realize what we take for granted everyday with water and plumbing and such. It always freaks me out when I think to much about whati s in my water and what I would do without it. But Fernando really is an expert in the field of water..and shared great info...especially easy distillation.

This was my first meeting with Survive and Thrive, i found the meeting very informative and down to earth. Fernando explained various facets of water purification and shared resources we might need to have on hand that would assist us if ever in need. I look forward to more trainings. I have used some of the techniques he shared in situations where my family and I had need to purify water. I like the simplicity in how he shared the info and the fact that he shared how to get started with inexpensive supplies. As a family of six "prepping" can get expensive along side our other expenses. Give thanks for a great gathering.

As someone who only has a little knowledge about water filtration I felt like Fernando presented the topic in a very simple and straight forward way.
