Synopsis:

Far too often we unknowingly use buzzwords and jargon to sweep away conversation and questions. Rather then using agile terminology to describe our work, perhaps we should use pictures, metaphors and made up words instead. We will look at different pictures that were used to describe an agile system, see how metaphors can open up people, and look at some made up words that encourage play and exploration. We will do this all while playing Agile Buzzword Bingo.

By attending this event, you will:

• Understand how agile terms that are familiar to us may actually inhibit our ability to communicate with one another

• See examples of diagrams used to describe a portfolio of agile projects that were not Scrum or Kanban boards, as well as team composition and cadence drawings that can help organize larger groups

• Learn some new metaphors that can help shake people up

• Discuss how made up words can foster play and creativity

• Play Buzzword Bingo and hear about Meeting Taboo
