# AGENDA

Festive Starting of the Recorder
There will be a brief joyful interlude to mark the beginning of the monthly recording of the Zoom session. Recordings will be posted to the SVFIG YouTube channel!
=+
We'll take a moment to remember the late Vernor Vinge, Forth evangelist and teacher.

The Hana 1 Soft Core Forth Processor --- Christopher Lozinski
The most famous soft core Forth processor is the J1. Mecrisp Ice gives it more instructions, a timer, data io, an interrupt and a large number of libraries, both in Forth and Verilog. The Hana 1 processor builds on Mecrisp Ice, makes it a lot smaller, and gives it more memory. This makes it possible to build a many-core Forth processor on an ICE40 FPGA. Risc-V haș not yet done that.

Screen Shot!
We'll take a virtual group photo to post on our website with the meeting notes.

Omni*Chat: Creating a FORTH Shell within Java based BitTorrent Client BiglyBT Decentralized Chat (BBDC) --- Liang Ng

Programming A Game With Strategy --- Bill Ragsdale
This sounds like fun!

Sunday Morning at the Electronics Flea Market --- Dave Jaffe
Dave will report on the activities and merchandise offered at the Electonics Flea Market held at West Valley College in Saratoga, CA.

Fun with Forth Recognizers --- Brad Nelson
Belatedly inspired by Leon Wagner's Forth Day presentation on adding Forth Recognizers to SwiftForth, I finally got around to giving them a try.
While Forth is very good at allowing applications to refine nearly every aspect of the system, Forth Recognizers fill a glaring hole, allowing applications to define new types of literals.
I'll demo an implementation of Recognizers added to uEforth/Esp32Forth, discuss how they affect bootstrapping the system, and explore some applications.

Forth, the Critical Use Case for Space Systems -- Don Golding
Don will tell us why Forth is the only solution for space computers that are reprogrammable in orbit.
=+
ADJOURNMENT
The recording will be stopped without festivities. Good fellowship and conversation can continue in our tastefully furnished Zoom Room.
