Kanban for DevOps with Dominica DeGrandis

The Meetup tonight will start at 6pm, and we will have food and beverages thanks to our sponsors: AppDynamics and Serena Software

6:00pm - 6:35pm: Food, networking, etc.
6:35pm - 6:45pm: Introductions, announcements.
6:45pm - 8:00pm: Dominica's presentation; Q&A
8:00pm - 9:00pm: more networking for people who want to hangout more.

Dominica DeGrandis is in town Sept 25-26 teaching a Kanban workshop at the Silicon Valley Innovation Center and she will be sticking around afterwards to speak with us for our September SVDevOps meetup at the same location.

Dominica, has taught the use and implementation of the Kanban method to teams and organisations all over the world. Her work focuses on methods for managing and improving workflow and communication between and within teams and departments, especially the workflow through IT. She is a proponent of the DevOps movement and works to bridge the gap between Development and Operations teams.

For our meetup Dominica will present options for handling situations where teams are unaware of mutually critical information. She'll show examples of metrics that can be used to start conversations to get people’s buy in and determine next steps.

Bring your questions - plenty of time for Q & A.

Note: if you are interested to learn more about Kanban for DevOps be sure to check out the workshop that Dominica is running before our meetup: http://ddegrandis.eventbrite.com/ I would definitely not want to miss that one. Be sure to signup soon as this will soon sell out ;). I sure hope to see many of you.

Any chance of getting the slide deck that you presented to us? There was a lot of useful examples on there, would love to get another look at them.

Great event, and so was the two-day training just prior. Maurius and the sponsor Serena hit it out of the park on this one.

I can provide bandwidth, if someone can record, although free/cloud services might be more accessible

This looks to be a VERY interesting talk. Kanban is of great interest to me for when Scrum doesn't cut it in interrupt driven teams...

This is a very interesting topic. Sadly we could not attend it being in India. Could you please videograph it and upload to Youtube so that less fortunate devops souls around the world could stream it at the least?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
