SVHealth Monthly Meetup – Health Games Interactive Panel

Details
Special event!!!
Hello everyone, SV Health is very happy to bring you our first interactive panel focused on the topic of:
Health Games: How to apply game design concepts to cause behavior change in healthcare ?
This is one of the hottest topics! The four groups historically successful in driving behavior change:
Consumer Packaged Goods (Camel cigarettes, Ipods)
Military
Religions
Game Developers
Today we are here today to discuss processes, strategies and tactics to shape behavior change and health care! This is both about consumer and provider goods.
Health and gaming is an upcoming and hotly debated topic. On one end gaming has a been linked to severe negative effects on health (physical and cognitive) of players of all ages and backgrounds. Yet in the last couple of years, with the advent of mobile, participatory games and immersive environments games have been shown to have significant positive physical and cognitive effect.
In many ways, healthcare needs more than just badges. It needs real ideas how to engage the patietns and cause behavior change.
Game designers are particularly talented at behavior change. We will ask:
-
How can game design principles or processes be applied to health IT space?
-
Ideas for user engagement. What might work? What would be different?
-
Discussion of some relevant trends in (mobile, social, home) gaming?
On March 19th our panel of distinguished guests dig into it!
The panel will be on game design to cause behavior change and how it is being used for health.
