You'll get invited to our Meetups as soon as they're scheduled!
This is a great group of people who all share a love of camping. We have been on a wide variety of trips thus far and I'll share a few experiences.
Lehman Caves, NV:
This was a trip to Great Basin National Park in northern Nevada. We stayed at Grey Cliffs campground for a weekend and had a great time. We went on a 90 minute tour of Lehman Caves as a group and everyone took some unbelievable photographs of the stalagmites and various other formations inside the cave. It was a very educational experience as well as fun. We also went on a hike along one of the trails on Wheeler Peak, we got a chance to play on the only glacier in Nevada. Some of the members made glacier angels and one even made a snowman. The campfires were unbelievable and the stars were big and bright, at times it almost seemed as if you could reach out and pluck one from the sky.
Zion National Park, UT:
The Pirates Lair was a pirate based theme trip up to Zion National Park where we stayed at Mosquito Cove. It was a trip celebrating Brian's (AO) anniversary from the service. It was a weekend to remember in my books. We camped a matter of feet from the Virgin River and had a pirate party. There was a treasure hunt for the pirates bounty which was later dispersed among the members. We sat around the campfire and played games, cooked dinner, and had some wine. The full moon gave us a clear view of the surrounding valley and mountains. We went on a 4-wheel adventure and a trip into Zion National Park where we did a short hike and took numerous pictures.
Grand Canyon North Rim
This was a completely unforgettable adventure. The canyon views were breathtaking and the numerous trails led us along so many routes that there were almost too many things to take photographs of. Not to worry though, I did take plenty and a few videos as well. We went on a short high clearance trail that led us to Point Sublime. From there we had a vantage point over the entire west facing canyon. The tree cover was magnificent and never ending. You never had to walk far before you were under a pine tree or an aspen. The only mischief that we encountered was a few hyperactive squirrels, well they were hyper after stealing all of our smores fixin's. The company was great, the views spectacular, and the weather was perfect.
I believe anyone who enjoys camping and the outdoors will love this group. As a bonus if you are interested in learning about hiking, 4-wheeling, backpacking, and other adventures then we offer this as well.
The group is very well rounded and down to earth. The members are friendly and accommodating, everyone tends to reach out and lend a hand where needed.
