What we’re about

Welcome to Sacramento Inspiring Connections Outdoors (ICO)!  ICO is a volunteer community outreach program through The Sierra Club that provides outdoor opportunities for people who may not have opportunities to explore and enjoy the natural world and outdoor recreation. We take youths and young adults on fun, educational, and completely free outdoor outings such as hikes, snowshoeing and sledding, camping trips, backpacking, and whitewater rafting.  Volunteers help with general supervision on outings, and get to show youths

We're glad you're interested in joining us in sharing the outdoors with under-served youth in the Sacramento area. Because we work with minors there is an application process to join ICO, which includes forms (ICO Volunteer Application, Volunteer Agreement, Code of Ethics), references, and a background check.

Please submit a request to Join the Meetup group, or contact the Sacramento ICO Chair Harry Spanglet (hspanglet@gmail.com) to apply.  Once your background check is complete, we'll approve you for the Meetup group and you'll be able to see all event details and RSVP. If you have any questions at all please email Harry, or look at our website and Facebook.

We hope to see you soon!
