Sacramento Sketchers

Welcome Fellow Sketcher!

Sacramento Sketchers is a new group (started in November 2012) for artists who enjoy the challenge of sketching and drawing landscape scenes, objects, portraits and figures from real life. Our events are partnered up with the well-established Sacramento Plein Air Painters meetup group which currently has 480 members.  So, more artists usually attend our events than the RSVP numbers on our pages indicate.

If you like the camaraderie and feedback of being around other artists when you draw, this group is for you! If you also like to paint, you should join Sacramento Plein Air Painters, too.  

For the most part, our events are not classes and most of our meetups are free of charge. Occasionally, we have teaching demos and formal step-by-step lesson type meetups.

Sometimes we'll have friendly competitions like quick draw events and art show events at a few galleries who'll spotlight our artworks.

Once a month, we have a friendly group critique in a restaurant, along with Sacramento Plein Air Painters  - bring one drawing or sketch and bring your appetite!

Our focus is on fun, friendship, and on always improving our sketching and drawing skills.

Kids under 18 are welcome to our events with an accompanying adult and well-behaved dogs on leashes are okay at most outdoor meetups.
