Dear Fellow Painter,
Welcome to our Sacramento Plein Air Painters group!
"Plein air" is French for painting in the open air, (outdoors), in the natural elements, which sometimes comes with braving the thick fog, or the blistering sun, wind, bugs, etc.
Sometimes painting in public places all alone can feel awkward. As painters meeting together, we find comfort in camaraderie, and often inspire each other.
The best part about painting together is the friendships that grow from our times together.
You don't have to be a pro—just bring your paints, brushes, easel, canvas or sketchbook, sunscreen and a snack.
Our group members meet and paint together in Sacramento and surrounding areas and we take occasional field trips farther away.
No need to RSVP "No"— just say "Yes" and come join us for the fun! Hope to see you at some of our paint outs soon. <br>
Sacramento Plein Air Painters has 700 members as of October 2019.
We're the largest Plein Air Group IN THE WORLD! (At least as far as Plein Air Meetup groups are concerned. There might be some other plein air organization out there in the world that's larger than ours... but I doubt it.)
