Teaching Fire: Cure for the Common Cold!

We live in cold times: lacking compassion, community, and connection to nature. No matter how much we consume or try distract ourselves with ‘virtual life’ on television or the internet, there’s a gnawing hunger for something more fulfilling. That hunger leads to illness, addiction, and alienation.

As the energy of heart, Fire connects us to each other and the world. Our ancestors gathered around the Fire for light and warmth and for sharing the stories that helped them find their place in the web of life. They knew the importance of Fire for health and well-being.

Larry will discuss what the healing tradition of the Huichols has to offer us and will answer any questions you have about this ancestral approach to well-being. For more background on this healing work, see Tending Fire.

Too much post surgical pain to sit out in the cold. I'm gonna stay on the couch with a heating pad.

Sorry you can't make it Thomas. But it's good to honor your body. We'll hope to see you sometime soon! Best Wishes, Larry

Dress warmly as we'll be outside by the fire. If you have a folding camp-style chair (or two!) or an extra blanket, bring that along. We may get folks who responded to an ad in the Source and they may not be 'equipped' to sit outside by the fire. We look forward to seeing whoever turns up!
