This event is aimed at experienced members and is the introduction to the sailboats provided for charter from the Walensee Segelschule (http://www.segelschulewalensee.ch/index.html).
The owner will brief us on the boat and you are expected to demonstrate your ability to sail safely, execute maneuvers, etc.
The keelboat we will be introduced to is a Tempest (2-4 persons capacity) and it is in fair condition. After participation in this event, you may charter and skipper the boat either on your own or during a scheduled meetup! Please note that since the boat has less than 16 m2 of sail area, a D-Schein is not required.
The cost of the brief is 120 CHF / hour to be shared amongst participants. Assuming we would go through the brief in two hours, the total cost of the event will be 240 CHF.
To register, please RSVP to this event and at the same time send an email from your private account (not from within meetup.com) to my account ([masked]). I will then inform you of my bank details.
Registration is open until June 18th, 2014 at which time and depending on the number of participants, you will be required to transfer to my bank account your part of the estimated 240 CHF cost. Registration is final once I have received your fee. On the day of the event, you may be required to pay any additional cost associated with doing the brief in more than two hours. No shows and cancellations will forfeit their fee.
Each participant is expected to have their own sailing gear (foul weather gear, gloves, etc.).
The boat is located at Mühlehorn marina, which can be reached by train in less than an hour and a half from Zurich HB. Our meeting point is the Mühlehorn train station at 14:45.
The event will only be run with a minimum of 4 participants. A maximum limit of 8 participants will be set and if reached a second 2 hour session will be run starting at 17:15. Priority will be based on registration date.
Participation is conditional on providing a signed copy of the "Release and Waiver of Liability Agreement" on the day of the event. You can download the file after selecting the "Files" menu-item from the "More" menu of the site.
