What cause or injustice do you care about most in Seattle?

I've been a skate park advocate for years-building safe and fun parks across the city, Focusing on River City Skate Park in South Park. Now that we have more space, I'm focused on programming and stewardship to help activate the parks. I want to help develop programs that mentor Youth and Families and provide internship and work opportunities and help prevent youth violence. I'm also trying to build a local action team with the Peace Alliance, so that we can raise awareness and pass the legislation , The Youth PROMISE Act (Prison Reduction through Opportunities, Mentoring, Intervention, Support, and Education) - bipartisan legislation (H.R. 1318 & S. 1307) that will give our communities the support and funding they need to effectively address youth violence issues. By specifically focusing on violence prevention and intervention strategies, this bill ensures we are funding programs that save lives and give every young person the opportunity to meet his or her potential. Peace!
