2 Year Anniversary for SLC Gift Circle!!

Details
Last month's circle rocked - with 24 people and lots of joyful connecting and sharing. This month we celebrate our 2 year anniversary of our growing community of generosity and receptivity! Hooray for us! It's been such a beautiful experience - truly a place where miracles, big and small happen every time. I am delighted to see this continue to blossom in our community. So please join us in experiencing the reality of abundance within you and all around you in our 23rd SLC Gift Circle Thursday, April at 6:30 pm in Kathryn's backyard in Sugar House. No Potluck this time! Please be a few minutes early - we will begin promptly at 6:30! It's so much fun (and such a relief!) to pass along what you no longer need - or to gift your time, skills and talents --- as well as to experience the generosity of another's surplus or time, skills and talents. The Gift Economy represents a shift from consumption to contribution, transaction to trust, scarcity to abundance and isolation to community. - Charles Eisenstein
You are welcome to bring your talents as well as items to gift (which you also get to bring home again if perchance there are no receivers for them this time) or you can bring photos or just tell stories about your gifts, and people can ask you for more info so you can get together later to arrange the gifting.
It's so simple and the effects are often life-changing in rich and surprising ways. How it works: We sit in a circle and go around 3 times sharing 3 things:
-
Who you are & any past experience with Gifting - Newbies are Gifts in Themselves!
-
What you want to give - could be surplus items, skills, time, ideas, passion, etc.
-
What you want to receive - this one tends to be tricky for many, as we have a cultivated tendency to be a wee bit in denial our own true needs and desires. And yet, to share them honestly is an honoring of our humanity and opens the door to connection and fulfillment. Plus, Givers have no purpose without Receivers.
Then we visit freely for about 20 minutes or so with your fellow Gifters & Receivers sharing more details and how to connect.
It's easy, great fun, and a place where magic becomes everyday reality. Many stories already of people asking for and receiving things they never imagined would come to be - pianos - sewing machines - snowboards - furniture - trampolines - ping-pong tables - new friendships and even love. Go figure, eh?
