Welcome to the San Diego chapter of The Nonfiction Authors Association.

Meeting Fee: $15 PREPAY ONLINE, $20 AT THE DOOR

MEETING AGENDA:

6:30 to 7:00 PM: Informal Networking

7:00 to 7:30 PM: Group Announcements & Brief Introductions by All Attendees

7:30 to 8:30 PM: Speakers Ellen Goodwin and Kim Keeline form an expert panel, presenting information and advice surrounding the topics of goal setting and blogging, both specifically aimed at nonfiction writers. Each speaker will give a brief overview of their topic for 10 minutes, followed by an open Q&A session for member questions. This is a great opportunity for attendees to bring their blogging, goal-setting and productivity questions to the table and get answers from professionals working in the field.

Ellen Goodwin (http://www.ellengoodwin.com) is a productivity expert, speaker and coach who is endlessly fascinated by the functioning of the brain when it comes to motivation, self control and getting things done. Using empirically based systems she’s developed through education, research and just plain living life, she has helped hundreds of people overcome their frustration with procrastination; ramp up their internal motivation and consistently be more productive so that they achieve long desired goals.

Kim Keeline (http://www.keeline.com) was a college professor for 15 years in English, Composition and Business Writing, who then went on to be a writer, web designer, and marketing professional. She is also the Membership and Communications Director at SD Writers, Ink. She is the managing editor of an international Shakespeare blog ( http://theshakespearestandard.com ) and has written blogs for numerous clients.

Kim will also be teaching a 4-part Blogging 101 course at San Diego Writers, Ink, starting January 12. Click here (http://www.sandiegowriters.org/112-blogging-101-with-kim-keeline/) to learn more, or to sign up.

Drawing for Door Prizes: We will be raffling off a copy of Judy Reeves' THE WRITER'S RETREAT KIT. Bring a business card to enter the drawing!

Please be sure to tell a friend who might also enjoy our group!

Overview: We meet on the third Friday each month to discuss the business side of writing, publishing and promoting nonfiction books. First-time visitors to an NFAA local chapter are not required to be members of the Nonfiction Authors Association, however, if you'd return to a second meeting and beyond (and we hope you do!), we ask that you join us online (free memberships are available): http://NonfictionAuthorsAssociation.com .

We welcome experienced and aspiring writers of nonfiction. Attendees are also invited to participate in our unique Mastermind Group Spotlight where three to five participants can present an issue, question or challenge related to the publishing journey and receive feedback from the rest of the group. This is a wildly popular feature of our meetings!

PLEASE NOTE: This is NOT a leads group. If your primary objective is to sell something, this isn't the group for you. We are here to support each other on the publishing journey.
