OpenStack LAMP & Load Balancing as a Service

Details

This talk is presented in partnership with the Kernel-Panic Linux User's Group (KPLUG).

LAMP, "Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP", is a generic term representing a software stack (typically open source) used to run dynamic, database driven websites. These environments are typically run in a clustered environment that includes redundancy for high availability utilizing load balancing to distribute web and database requests across the available computing resources.

We'll be taking a look a running a LAMP environment of multiple virtual servers atop of an OpenStack cloud environment. This includes setting up load balancing as a service (LBaaS) within OpenStack to distribute requests across the virtual servers).

A wifi accessible OpenStack cloud will be available for those interested in connecting and trying out the environment. Please bring your own wifi equipped laptop with a browser installed (SSH client optional).
