Title: Fundamentals of creating remote SharePoint apps

Description:

This month Tim Odell will be conducting a demonstration on the fundamentals of creating remote SharePoint apps. You will learn how to set up an Azure Web Site and configure it as an app host. Visual Studio will be used to create a remote Azure Web Site Web Application that features MVC and Web API controllers for passing around JSON files via HTTP GET and POST request. Lastly you will learn how AngularJS (https://angularjs.org/) can be used to leverage consume those JSON files for creating simple but powerful user interfaces.

Tim Odell is technology professional and enthusiast who has spent 20 years improving business processes through careful application of client-server and web based technologies. He has been designing and building Microsoft based web applications since they originated in the late 1990's and has worked with SharePoint since version 2003. For the past 5 years he has managed SharePoint architecture, development and support for St. Joseph Health System and Herbalife International.
