Join us in Carlsbad for a hands-on evening creating 360-degree immersive videos. Participate in this mini-production clinic using Kodak SP360 4K cameras. Come by and shoot a small segment of 360 video and edit it into a finished video, all in one evening! We'll also watch 360 content created here in San Diego, and meet the local creators. We'll even livestream the event in 360 - come learn how its done!
We want YOU to demo your 360 videos! Whether you're tinkering or a pro, come by and share your creations, rigs and other gear. Please contact us (brian@sandiegovr.org) to let us know if you have a demo!
The evening will be co-hosted by Casey Sapp, CEO of VRTÜL (http://www.vrtul.io/home) and Kevin Cruz, Marketing/Product Specialist for Kodak Pixpro (https://kodakpixpro.com/Americas/). We'll learn about VRTÜL's groundbreaking work (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5GfoPJe-n4&feature=youtu.be) with clients such as SeaWorld and Google (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5GfoPJe-n4&feature=youtu.be), and hear Kevin's perspective on story telling and production in 360°. We'll also open up to 'lightning talks' from group members to share about their 360 productions.
Our venue is VIBEHUB (https://vibehub.co/) in CARLSBAD - a collaborative office workspace that serves as an accelerating platform for small businesses to grow. They are creating an environment that stimulates creativity and productivity in a fun atmosphere, just one block from the Pacific Ocean.

Coming from Los Angeles - Exit I-5 onto Palomar Airport Road. Head West then turn Left at the 1st cross street onto Avenida Encinas. Turn Right on Embarcadero Lane.
Coming from San Diego - Exit I-5 onto Poinsettia Lane. Head West then turn Right at the 1st cross street onto Avenida Encinas. Turn Left on Embarcadero Lane.

Parking:Parking can be found on Embarcadero Lane, on the main street, or in the transit parking lot on the west side of VIBEHUB.
Train: Take the train up or down and get off at Poinsettia Coaster Station. Head East over the bridge, across the parking lot & VIBEHUB will be on your left.
BIO: Kevin Cruz
Kevin has a degree in theoretic technology studies and digital media and joined JK Imaging 18 months ago. His vast knowledge in the 360° VR format has been instrumental in KODAK PIXPRO continuing to lead the 360° video movement and leverage their brand as one of the first companies to deliver a 360° VR camera 3 years ago.
Kevin is involved in speaking at industry events, tradeshows and venues to help educate 360° enthusiasts and veteran content creators in the benefits of a simple and elegant two camera solution in the 4K format.
His resume includes panel involvement at the Creative Technology Center Los Angeles and YouTube Space LA in 360° workshops. Kevin’s disciplines also include: 360° production and post-production, story telling in 360° and consulting on a day-to-day basis with many industry professionals across a multitude of applications and business sectors.
BIO: Casey Sapp
VRTÜL is a studio based in San Diego managing high-end VR productions.
Casey is CEO of VRTÜL. He is co-creator of the first 360 stereoscopic underwater camera and has participated as a producer or supervisor for over 35 VR film projects with clients including SeaWorld, Google, United Way, Nekton, Here Be Dragons, and 30Ninjas.
