I enjoy reading and critiquing the work of other writers. It stimulates my own creativity and gives me perspective on my own writing. I also find it essential to have my work critiqued, especially the first draft, in order to determine if the story I think I wrote is the story others read. I have learned a great deal from participating in writer's groups for several years.
I write primarily screenplays, and some short stories. My screenplays are typically dramas, although I have tried one comedy and one "dramedy." I have written several scripts set in earlier times, which unfortunately have a narrower market. But when I get an idea which interests me I tend to pursue it regardless of the commercial possibilities.
By offering honest, constructive criticism of story, character, and dialogue which will enable me to improve my scripts through the rewriting process.
My name is Andrew Crane. I have been writing short stories and screenplays for about 18 years. In the past I have attended meetings of a writer's group in Encinitas, which was discontinued, and a screenwriters group in San Diego.
