Volunteer Trail Restoration - Trail Canyon trail

Details
A small group of volunteers are working on restoring the Trail Canyon trail that connects to the Condor Peak Trail. A big part of the Trail Canyon trail was destroyed by the 2009 fire, leaving about half a mile to the Condor Peak trail, impenetrable. A number of volunteer groups have already begun working on the trail, but help is still needed. I will be joining the Restoration Legacy Crew. This project is led by Brenda Beck. Please wear work clothes such as boots, denim or Dickies pants, t-shirt underneath a long sleeve work shirt, gloves and safety glasses. Also your day pack with snacks and water and medication, if you take any. If you do not have gloves and safety glasses, let me know and I'll see what can be done.
This was our 1st hike as a meetup group up to Trail Canyon Falls on May 2014 and is one of my favorite hikes in the Angeles National Forest. Join us on preserving these trails that connects us with the mountains and so the next generation of hikers can experience what we love.
HIW TO GET THERE:
Take 210 freeway heading towards Sunland. Take Sunland Blvd. exit and head north. Sunland Blvd. becomes Foothill Blvd. Drive about half a mile and turn left on Oro Vista Avenue. Continue on
Oro Vista Ave through residential area past several stop signs. Oro Vista Ave curves to the right and become
Big Tujunga Canyon Road.
Follow Big Tujunga Canyon Road for about 3.4 miles (past Mt. Gleason Ave intersection) and look for dirt road
with a gate leaving the main road to the left. There is no obvious sign for Trail Canyon, but the turnoff is
between red and white mile posts labeled "2.01" and "2.05". If you see Ottie Road, you have gone too far.
Drive in this dirt road about 1/4 mile to parking area. DISCLAIMER / RELEASE OF LIABILITY
