Yelp: Slow Growth Lessons in a Hack-Assed World.
Details
Hear from Michael Ernst and Nish Nadaraja, employees 6 and 7 at Yelp, as they talk about the importance of brand, experimentation, perpetual feedback and authenticity, as it related to Yelp when the company was just in an incubator and how any of it still translates to these modern times.
Nish Nadaraja led all marketing, community and brand efforts at Yelp from 2005-2010. He created the now infamous Yelp Elite program in those early days. Post Yelp, he continues to advise, consult and invest in early stage start-ups and even a few restaurants.
Michael Ernst was Yelp's Creative Director from 2005-2009. He created the Yelp logo and also had the opportunity to be invited back to Yelp to update his original site, mobile and graphic designs in 2012. He currently advises and consults on consumer-facing start-ups and original ideas.
