Carbon Dividend Meetup with Camila Thorndike

Camila Thorndike, Executive Director of Oregon Climate, will be in town on Saturday, October 3rd and has agreed to join us for a special Basic Income meetup that afternoon. Oregon Climate is advocating for a "Carbon Dividend" in the state of Oregon, which would tax carbon emission and distribute the revenue directly to residents. While similar proposals are being discussed in other states, Oregon has progressed furthest on this issue, and legislation is currently being considered in the Oregon assembly (http://www.oregonclimate.org/legislative_hearing_april14).

Camila will talk about Oregon Climate's work, and we'll have a discussion about how these efforts relate to the larger Basic Income conversation.
