Hello All,

Our next hike will be in San Francisco on Halloween weekend. We will explore the Mission District and the area to the south of the heart of San Francisco and its fine views and charming neighborhoods.

The hike distance is 6.5 miles with an altitude gain of 1000 feet so it will be at the easier end of our usual intermediate level hike range. With our later than usual start time and somewhat easier than usual hike, those who are so inclined will still have enough energy to explore Halloween in San Francisco after the hike.

There will be an optional dinner and optional exploration of Halloween in San Francisco after the hike.

Details are posted below.

I hope you can join us....

Your Organizer,
- Julio M.

Our hike will start at South Beach Park which is a short walk from the San Francisco Caltrain station and immediately to the northwest of AT&T Park.  We will then follow the charming Mission Creek walkway to the Design District of San Francisco with its renovated architecturally interesting buildings. We will then hike to 16th Street and enter the Mission District and make a stop at Franklin Square Park.

We will explore the heart of the Mission District by moving over to 18th Street and its fine unique shops. Next our route will traverse Mission Dolores Park. After leaving the park, our route will take us through a charming residential area of the Mission District. We will then head uphill to discover the fine panoramic views from Tank Hill. Our route will next take us to the hidden Mt. Olympus monument and park and the surrounding lovely neighborhood. For the last segment of our hike we will head over to Corona Heights and admire the stunning views of the heart of San Francisco. As we descend from the heights, we will make a quick aquaintance with the Randall Museum and then end our hike at the Castro Street Muni station from which the T-Line Muni Metro can take us back to the Caltrain Station.
