DETAILS POSTED: Mount Diablo State Park Hike: Mitchell Canyon & Eagle Peak

From: Julio M.

Hello All,

I have posted the details of the Mount Diablo State Park hike scheduled for Saturday April 21. The full description can be found at our website and a summary is provided below. Please update your RSVPs if necessary.

Mount Diablo State Park includes the iconic prominent East Bay peak that is its namesake as well as several additional surrounding peaks. At Mount Diablo State Park, the best way to commemorate the annual wildflowers of Spring is from the Mitchell Canyon trailhead. On this hike we will hike up Mitchell Canyon and up to Eagle Peak, allowing us to enjoy any blooming Spring wildflowers and to catch the view from one of the prominent peaks surrounding Mount Diablo.

With a hike length of about 8 miles and 2200 feet of elevation gain, our hike will be at the upper end of our usual intermediate level. Please consider your physical condition and make sure you are able to handle an intermediate-level hike with significant elevation gain. *Full details are listed at the website.*

NOTE: Carpool options:
1. You can meet to carpool at our usual carpool point in Palo Alto at the California Avenue Caltrain station.

2.I have established an East Bay carpool point at the Greenhouse Marketplace Shopping Center in San Leandro (in front of Loard’s Ice Cream store). The hike organizer will make sure the carpool he is in leaving the Palo Alto carpool point will make a stop at this carpool point, and he will help arrange the carpools in San Leandro upon his arrival.

* As usual, carpools departing from the carpool points are not generally prearranged and are formed at the carpool location on the morning of the hike. So you can just show up and take it from there!

It would be great if some folks in San Francisco and in Marin self-organize carpools from those areas as well.

See the hike and carpool details at our website.

I hope you can join us....

Your Organizer,
Julio M.
