Presentation: Building a serverless Slackbot using AWS Lambda and JS
Teams are increasingly moving to chat interfaces. Meanwhile devs are increasingly moving to serverless architectures. Lets combine these new shiny objects into a weird and wonderful thing. In this talk Brian will share lessons learned building as-of-yet-unreleased begin.com (http://begin.com/) bots. Building a serverless architecture comes with new challenges and opportunities for fun. We'll look at the Slack API, getting setup with AWS, deploying Lambda functions and the different ways to invoke them.

Alfred Tom is co-founder and CEO of Wivity ( http://wivity.com ). His most recent success was in the connected car space where he revamped GM's infotainment strategy and built the MirrorLink ( http://www.mirrorlink.com ) standard from the ground up with Wivity's other co-founder Jörg Brakensiek.
Presentation: If you own a Telsa Model S, chances are it has a slower wireless connection than a $20,000 Chevrolet Cruze. Why? Because when Telsa designed the Model S LTE didn’t exist. Telsa now charges customers $500+ to upgrade to LTE. Alfred will present a better solution- Wivity's wireless modems powered by the cloud that can be swapped just like an AA battery. With Wivity, Tesla could give its customers a DIY 4G replacement modem for <$100. In fact, Wivity's modems allow any type of device, not just cars, to have the best available connectivity in any location at any point in the product lifecycle.
