In-depth Grails API Toolkit

Details

Speaker: Owen Rubel (https://www.meetup.com/San-Francisco-Grails-Centro/members/6828500)

API’s are the combination of resource management and I/O for said resource management. But as we extend that I/O outwards with the architecture, functionality and data for the request/response becomes an architectural cross-cutting concern. The industry has attempted to resolve this issue with tooling but redundancy and entanglement still continue in code.

To resolve this, frameworks like Node.js have shown improvements by abstracting the I/O through Loopback/Strongloop toolkits. In Grails/Spring, we can doing the exact same thing but better using the HandlerInterceptor.

The creator of the Grails API Toolkit will show an entirely different way to map and create API’s that will reduce your code, simplify development, increase your throughput and introduce new tools and principles such as API Chaining and a shareable apiObject.
