Learn and Practice Shadow Work Techniques

Details

Carl Jung coined the term "The Shadow" to describe parts of the unconscious. Here we use the term "shadow" to describe the aspect of ourselves we have disowned and then forgotten. These parts are related to some behavior our parents or society told us was unacceptable. Our response, usually as children, was to hide the behavior, or part, from ourselves and others. Eventually we forgot that the part had ever been a part of us. The result was that these parts did not disapear but merely moved to the recesses of the unconscious only to rear their heads in the form of projections. You can begin to identify a persons shadow by recognizing the traits they judge or criticize in others yet refuse to see in themselves. We unconsciously project our shadows onto the outside world in hopes that the outside world will reflect back to us those behaviors so that we gain recognition of the abandoned parts of ourselvs.

"Shadow Work" is the process of identifying, accepting, owning, and integrating those parts of ourselves we once sacked away in the basement of our consciousness. This is about becoming whole.

You will walk away from this meet-up with the knowledge and skills to continue to do your own shadow work and utilize the techniques with others. In this meet-up we will introduce and demonstrate a shadow work technique developed by Debbie Ford author of Dark Side of the Light Chasers. Folks will have the opportunity to learn and practice these simple yet transformational techinques with each other during the meet-up.

This meet-up will be co-lead by Jeff Ennor, CCHt and Xavier Lee, NLP Master Trainer.

If you haven't been to HCH Institute before please read the driving directions before hand as HCH is difficult to find and does not show up accurately on GPS or internet maps.

Call or message Jeff Ennor if you have questions about this meet-up.
