Jericho On The Road: Hayes Valley/Alamo Square

Hey everyone. I've already mentioned to some of you that the next game was going to be set on the 15th, but I wasn't quite sure where it would start. I've given it some thought and decided we'll be starting in the Hayes side of Patricia's Green and working our way through Alamo Square before returning to Hayes Valley for some grub. We'll follow the four mission format we did last time since that worked out better than any offense vs offense game I've come up with. And because there isn't another evening Nerf game scheduled, our weekend weapons ban is back. For new players, that means no battery operated or clip fed guns. For those who don't have one, I'll have some spare Jolts, Triads and plenty of ammo on hand to lend out. Besides that, don't forget to bring your hat and or disguises and I'll see you then :)

It was a good time all around. I got some good use out of my new disc blaster, particularly killing Yoshi (though he got me too). Since we didn't have a nearby Super Duper, I was glad to offer my house for the after-gathering. Someone left a lap desk though, not sure if that was a prop for one of the missions or what but if you want it back just let me know.

Definitely some of the most creative mission strategies that I've seen in awhile. So creative that on Mission #4, both teams managed to outsmart each other! It's also great to see so many new faces as that adds greatly to the challenge of playing Jericho. In fact, I gave up three very easy kills because I wasn't entirely sure if those three people were part of the game (accidentally shooting civilians is not much fun). Thanks, Ben, for yet another awesome game. And in new territory to boot! BTW, I really like the four mission format; I hope you continue to use it.

Whoops. That was supposed to read, "So creative that on Mission #4, both teams managed to outsmart each other to the point of having nearly zero contact!"

I will probably have some single shooters I'll be bringing that people can buy cheap if so desired.

Round Two will begin at Hayes Valley Playground(Hayes/Buchannan) around 2:45 or so. Also, if anyone besides Yoshi left something behind during Capture The Flag, let me know. I still have a lot of people's gear. See you guys tomorrow.

Hey Ben, Did you mean 1:45, or does Mission #2 really start at around 2:45?

      June 14, 2013

    • Benjamin

Whoops. It is indeed 1:45. Thanks for double checking.

Got a Maverick! I might need some extra ammo though...

    June 14, 2013

  • Fabian

So for this game we can't use mavericks?

    June 13, 2013

    • Andrew S.

Mavericks are the exact type of blaster that is allowed. It is neither electric nor clip-fed so it is legal.

      June 13, 2013

    • David M.

My Maverick is gas turbine fed. It shoots darts at a rate of 45 per second.

Hello, Me and my friend would love to help out and participate the up coming event held at Patricia's Green event.but the problem is that me and my friend have only clip system gun. We only have one clip anyway and we will be honest to put only 8 darts max into our clip each time before we re-lode. It would be pleasant in manner if the game host would allow this special case for us. We thank you once again and are looking forward to it.

If you're in the city, I have loads of single shot nerf guns available for cheap. :)

    • Benjamin

Like I said previously, I'll have extra Jolts and Triads for those who don't have any. Just bring some extra ammo if you can.

If i were to attend this with a buddy were would i be able to get the specifuc required nerf gun? is ther an entry fee as well?

    June 4, 2013

    • Greg

As Andrew pointed out, there is no "specific required NERF gun." But there are numerous options for where to purchase them. Target usually has the best prices and selection. If you can get to

a Walmart, Kmart, or Toys R Us, they are also good places. Well, maybe not Toys R Us -- they're the most expensive. You can also try Amazon.com as they have great selection and usually good prices.

I'll be out of town for this one...

    June 3, 2013

  • Amy

Hey there, i'm new to this group. What kind of nerf gun do you recommend for a beginner?

    June 3, 2013

    • Benjamin

Definitely go with what Andrew said. Jolts if you want be stealthy, Strongarm if you want to be able to fire off a bit more without reloading. And I have nothing against battery operated and or clip fed blasters. My Solarbotics Stryfe with a 25 round drum is my baby :)

      June 3, 2013

    • Amy

thanks for the help. I went with the Strongarm + extra darts :)
