Jericho On The Road: Berkeley PLUS Bridges Nerf Night(bring a bandana)

Hey everyone, we've finally got everything set up for an East Bay day of Nerf. In the afternoon we'll be meeting up at the Downtown Berkeley BART station for Jericho. This will be a three round game, with no weapons restrictions, and we will be using bandanas again instead of hats to mark us as dead. And as usual, we'll find some place to grub and talk about the game at.

Later on in the evening(seven to be exact), you'll also have the chance to have some fun at Bridges Rock Gym for their Nerf Night. We'll probably be playing things like team death match or capture the flag while running around and climbing their bouldering walls. If you need more convincing, check out some footage here. This, unlike Jericho, is not free and will cost $10. If you're interested in joining us after Jericho for some more Nerf, please call the gym or e-mail Patrick Vance to make a reservation.

And lastly, in case you need a place to leave your Bridges load out, our co-organizer Eric has been so kind to offer his car as storage while we play Jericho. I also ask that if you intend to use a modded blaster for Bridges and Jericho, please check in with me first before using it at Jericho. While modded blasters are okay in the closed environment at Bridges, I'm not entirely okay with certain blasters being used while running around a busy downtown Berkeley. Feel free to message me with any questions about that.

So yeah, don't forget your blaster(s) and bandanas and I'll see you guys at the end of the month.

    Why bandanas and not hats?

To give people the opportunity to use disguises that involve headwear.

Hey folks looking forward to today's game! Quick update: there will be prizes: sucessful couriers or people who kill couriers will win a nerf blaster each mission. And a prize will go to whoever has the highest number of kills at the end of the game so keep track! Also there will he side missions which also have prizes.

I'm unclear about the details of this game. Does it make more sense to have a pistol or a big gun or does it not matter?

Besides the bandana rule change, I actually think the description in the about page is pretty straight forward. This is a spy game, so it would probably serve you best to be as incognito as possible, especially in choice of blaster. Having a big gun doesn't really offer much besides ammo capacity and range which doesn't benefit you if the enemy can sneak up on you undetected.

If anyone wants to stash their gear for the evening Bridges Rock Gym game I'll have my car parked in a garage one block from the start of the Jericho game. If this interests you please do two things: 1) leave a comment below saying so and 2) arrive at least 15 minutes early to the start of the Jericho game so we can walk people's stuff over to my car. We will leave Downtown Berkeley BART plaza at 1:50 sharp, so don't be late!

Hey folks just a quick reminder that if you plan to attend the evening event at Bridges Rock Gym (and you should, it's going to be amazing!) then you need to RSVP on the Facebook page here:

    https://www.facebook.com/events/536500873088129/

And sign up over the phone! $10 call[masked] let the rep. know you want to sign up for the Nerf Night on Sept. 28th!

Or if you don't have a FB account then just give the gym a ring to let them know you're coming.

How do I RSVP for 2?

    September 19, 2013

    • Benjamin

There's an option when you RSVP. But it's likely not showing up because it's at capacity. For you and everyone else who is still interested in coming, I'll say the same thing. You're more than welcome to come and play, but you'll likely have to share mission briefings with other players. The RSVP's are generally just to help me figure out how many missions to print out before hand.

I have a party of four. Will they all need to RSVP or can I just RSVP for them?

    September 18, 2013

    • Eric A.

When you RSVP you should be able to indicate +4. Make sure everyone brings a nerf blaster and a bandana:-)
