A Sneak Peak at MongoDB 1.8

10gen Engineer Gates Voyer-Perrault will give user group attendees a view into the newest upcoming stable release of MongoDB, which will feature journaling for fast recovery and greater durability, higher-speed map/reduce, and more. Be the first to 'hear all about it' at this week's meetup.

Using Mongo + Node.js to track conversations on node.js, presented by David Edelhart.

Noogle is a search engine for IRC logs - actually a specialization of a general purpose spider - with "brute force" word indexing in MongoDB. David used it to test and familiarize himself both with Node.js and with the map/reduce and Node bindings for MongoDB.
