perl5i: Perl 5 Improved

Most of the improvements in Perl 5 happen not in the language, but in CPAN modules. This can leave users with the impression that Perl is out of date, or disjoint and chaotic. perl5i takes the best of CPAN and combines them into one improved language. Exceptions, everything as an object, more sensible defaults form a foundation. All while remaining compatible with Perl 5.
