We have a great talk lined up for the March Meetup. Fergal Somers and the team from Workday will be on-hand to tell us about how and why they put Riak into production, and where it fits in their total datastore strategy. Full details below the break. If you're interested in how a leading enterprise SaaS rolled Riak out, you'll want to be here.
Also, we'll be opening the doors at 6:30, so the talk will probably start promptly at 7PM. Please try to arrive on time. As usual, we'll be providing the beer and pizza. Bring your hard questions and use cases.
See you in a few weeks. Let me know if you have any questions.
Riak in Production at Workday
Fergal Somers, Senior Architect; Workday
Workday provides HR, Financials and Integration applications in the cloud. As part of this service Workday stores an array of company data including personal data, financial information as well as media such as photos and documents. As new application features are rolled to ever more customers, the amount of data that Workday stores on behalf of its customers has increased rapidly.
We will discuss how we have evolved into a multi-datastore approach, what problems we encountered along the way and why we have adopted Riak. We will also discuss how we evolved our architecture to incorporate Riak into our technology stack.
