Riak at Formspring

This month's meetup will be happening on July 28th, and the awesome team at Formspring will be taking us on a tour of how they use Riak.

Riak at Formspring

Time: 7:15 - 8:00

Formspring (http://www.formspring.me/) helps people find out more about each other through sharing interesting & personal responses and now, in just over 18 months since launch, has grown to more than 25 million registered users.

Formspring chose Riak recently as the backend for two major upcoming features and, in this talk, the Engineering Team will share details on how and why they are using it.

Formspring also makes heavy use of Amazon Web Services (AWS) at nearly every level of their infrastructure and will talk about what they've learned running Riak at scale on AWS.

We'll finish with off with some general Q & A on Riak, Distributed Systems, etc., as well as some general networking.

This month's meetup will be held at Formspring's new offices in located at the corner of Mission and First in downtown San Francisco (see invite for full location details). Embarcadero is the closest Muni/BART stop. Check in at the front desk and you'll be sent up to the 5th floor where you'll find beer and pizza awaiting your arrival.
