You are invited to join Brent Plater of the Wild Equity Institute for a hike at Muir Woods to see the threatened Coho Salmon, Central California Coast Evolutionary Significant Unit, and the Steelhead, Central California Coast Distinct Population Segment. Witness the semelparous (click here for the definition of semelparous (http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/semelparous)) spawning behavior of the Coho Salmon and take action to help save these imperiled species.

Meet at Muir Woods National Monument, Mill Valley, CA, 94941.

Muir Woods is wonderful for many reasons, but the feature I appreciate most is the 1.5 miles of paved/boardwalked trail accessible to visitors with limited mobility. We will be on this trail for most of the stroll.

It is going to be big group (yipeeee), let's do our best to keep our carbon footprint small by carpooling. The salmon really appreciate it. Please post below if you have space in your car or if you need a ride.

Keep in mind, everyone pays their own $7 entrance into the park. Entrance is free for visitors aged 15 yrs and under.

This event is rain or shine.
