First Sandstorm SF Project Night - Newcomers Welcome

Details

Join us to learn about, talk about, install, and hack on Sandstorm & personal server apps!

Sandstorm is the easiest way you've ever seen to install web apps like Etherpad, GitLab, WordPress and Wave on a Linux server. Sandstorm looks like a usability project, but is secretly a security project. It's a whole new take on running your own server.

If you haven't yet, you should try the demo at https://demo.sandstorm.io/

Project nights are unstructured chances for Sandstorm developers & users to work together, mentor each other, connect socially, teach, learn, or do whatever else it is Sandstorm users & developers want to do together.

Our project nights are great ways to build the Sandstorm & server self-hosting community, by allowing people to meet and interact in whatever way they find most beneficial.

Food: SF Wraps (http://www.yelp.com/biz/sf-wraps-san-francisco) (middle eastern). Contact us with dietary restrictions.

Event sponsor: Thoughtworks! Huge thanks to them, and to Jack Singleton for making that happen.

This "Project Night" is the first event in the Sandstorm SF Bay Area meetup. We'll:

  • Learn from each other -- core developers, app authors, and total newcomers will be in attendance.

  • Share info about apps we like and apps we wrote!

  • Get help making apps, or installing Sandstorm, etc.
