Cooking class and dinner with Nimita's Cuisine

  • This location is shown only to members

Learn how to make authentic Indian cuisine in this hands-on workshop with Nimita of Nimita's Cuisine, followed with a lovely multi-dish dinner together. It will be fun to cook together and enjoy blending the aromatic and flavorful spices!

Nimita has been teaching since 1994 in the Canary Islands, Spain and here in Santa Barbara since 1996. She uses the freshest vegetarian ingredients, blending spices to create nourishing Ayurvedic meals.

This special workshop is a fund-raiser for our Santa Barbara Culinary Arts group which supports local culinary students with our Endowment of the Scholarship in Honor of Julia Child at SBCC. The cost is only $50 for SBCA members, $60 for non-members for the workshop, delicious meal and leftovers! Please RSVP to secure your spot: [masked].

About the class:

"The class lasts approximately three hours in order to cover a full menu. Recipe booklets will be provided so that the participants can have their full hands on experience as they learn to master the use of spices. All vegetables are locally grown. The ingredients used are of the highest quality since this will enhance the meal to be healthy,  nourishing, and healing at the same time. After the meal is prepared, we will sit together to enjoy our makings and company together. I encourage you to bring Tupperware for leftovers to share with your family and friends since we tend to make extra."

Testimonial:

"Cooking class unlike anything you’ve done before. Instead of being recipe driven, it’s about how to cook: learning what spices to use, how to use them, and how to honor the food you’re preparing as well as the people eating it. Can’t wait to go again!" --Rose Pizzorno (SBCA member)

Please join us! To secure your spot, please RSVP to Karyn: [masked] or call 895 • 6750

The cost is just $50 for SBCA members, $60 for non-members.
