Santa Paula Creek runs year-round and is best known for its intrinsic beauty, and natural deep pools, waterfalls, and steep cliffs. The trail takes you through picturesque St. Thomas Aquinas College, then along the wooded banks of Santa Paula creek with plentiful swimming holes, capped by a spectacular 25 foot waterfall.
About 3 miles up the creek you will enjoy climbing over big rocks and scrambling up loose dirt. It gets increasingly challenging. Hiking poles will be helpful.
Bring water shoes as there will be water crossings. Also bring 3 quarts of water, lunch, bug spray, sunblock, and hat, appropriate footwear WITH TREAD.
Meet outside the gate at Towsley Park at 6:45 for 7:00 departure or meet at trailhead at 8:00
Directions to Trailhead:
Take the 126 west to the town of Santa Paula. Go north on Hwy 150 for 6.5 miles to St Thomas Aquinas College on the right. You will see The gold bell tower dome through the trees as you are approaching. Park across the street from the College entrance, in the gravel parking area. Do not drive into the College grounds. You may receive a ticket
