A moderate 4 mile loop through East Walker Ranch

Placerita canyon through the recently acquired East Walker Ranch open space. This is a very pretty hike with lots of chaparral and oak woodlands. Some of the terrain will be steep, the pace will
be moderate, OK for energetic beginners. If you'd like a longer hike, you can add Golden Valley after the East Walker Ranch hike.

Meet at 8:00AM at the Golden Valley parking area, which is located just beyond the Walker Ranch Trail head on the left side of the street. You can park on the street, or the new lot, inside the gate. We will get started at 8:15. The Golden Valley Open Space is about a half mile east of the Walker ranch trailhead on Placerita Rd, 2 1/2 miles east of the Placerita Nature center.http://photos3.meetupstatic.com/photos/event/4/e/3/6/event_77960022.jpeg

Bring hiking poles, hat, sunblock, lunch and snacks and 2 quarts of water,good boots WITH TREAD. To easily find the hike leader, LOOK FOR THE AMERICAN FLAG

If you would like to add more mileage, we can do one of the trails at Golden Valley, across the street as well!
