Meet other Earth lovin' people. We are gather to practice shamanism, natural spirituality, and bring back our connection with a sacred Earth. This is an open-hearted group of folks who perhaps have heard about shamanism or have been hearing the Earth's spiritual call, or perhaps have had training and seek to gather with others who have been walking this extraordinary path. It is equally for those who come because of a nagging curiosity, as it is for those who are experienced. It is a group with that is going to have various programs, from those providing the absolute beginner with a place to comfortably learn, to those who are extremely advanced with years of work already behind them. This hopes of this group are that it will have activities for all levels and interests. From drum circles to comprehensive healing training, and from donated community healing to insight-oriented shamanic growth groups. There is something that is going to be here for anyone with a love, or even a budding interest in shamanism and Earth-based spirituality.
We are being called back to our sacred Earth; back to our original wholeness. Shamanism's earthy, natural spirituality brings a timely and healing voice to a people who are increasingly yearning to reconnect with the Whole from which we came.
If shamanic training is you interest, educational gatherings will be assisted by Dr. Steve Serr, originally trained as a clinical psychologist. Steve eventually turned back to nature, where he developed a passion for the potential in shamanism, began to research, and later turn to educate and certify shamanic practitioners at http://www.shamanism-101.com .
If Nature-Based Spirituality is what you're seeking, shamanism is far more than mere ritual or healing. It is a spiritual practice, and our growing interest in shamanic studies meets a deep, perhaps even unrecognized widespread need to reconnect with our Earth and with each other. Nature-based and shamanic spirituality refers to ancient and worldwide grounding and orienting practices in which sensitizing, heart opening, focusing and intention-setting efforts lead us back to our original connected and integrated nature, where we are consciously aware of our sacred Earth.
This 'age of separation' that we are currently living in has severely fragmented us from each other, from our planet, and even from ourselves. Much of humanity has become distanced from the Whole of which it was once connected. Both time and change have led to widespread forgetting of our original connection with our full true self, our human community, and the planet upon which we live. We suffer as individuals, as societies, and as a biosphere. Let's connect!
Shamanism remembers our deep interconnection. It brings us home, and seeks to restore our essential, natural, ways of understanding and working with each other and the world. We need accessible gathering places where we can learn to recover our ancient ways and return to our vital, natural wellness.
What we ask from you:
1) Suggest days and times that you think would make gatherings such as these available to the most people in the wider Santa Cruz County, and an area serving from Watsonville, to Los Gatos, and from Boulder Creek to Davenport.
2) Let us know your interests so we know what to make available. Different gatherings will be focusing on different areas.
Of course, some will be gatherings of all kinds for nature-based spirituality (drum circles, journey nights, spiritual walks in nature, etc.).
Perhaps an insight-oriented shamanic growth group or a program in shamanic practice leading to certification. Certainly there will be basic journey skills taught regularly to help new members.
Or, how about community shamanic wellness days, offering no-cost or token payment shamanic healings to the community. Sounds like fun? And a challenge! Let's show everyone exactly how loving and compassionate shamanic practice really is!
Certainly, there will be retreat days, heading to nature to do shamanic practice where it all began.
Other gatherings?... You get it! We are only limited by our imagination and interest.
The purpose of this meetup is to meet the growing variety of needs expressed by many people who have determined it is time to return to the Earth and our natural, integrated wellness. Shamanism ‘sprouted’ from the Earth among human beings the world over. It is in our DNA. This path belongs to everyone. It is our global heritage.
