Jane Lipman and Steven Edwin Counsell

Jane Lipman, author of "On The Back Porch Of The Moon", received an M.A. from The Johns Hopkins Graduate Writing Seminars, and was an activist in the civil rights and anti-war movements during the '60s and early '70s. A retired psychotherapist, she teaches occasional courses and professional workshops, especially in Comedy Therapy. During the 80's, she founded and directed Taos Institute, which sponsored performances and workshops by Robert Bly, Gioia Timpanelli, Joseph Campbell, and others. She has lived in northern New Mexico since 1970. read more
Steven Edwin Counsell, author of "Illuminations: The Geography of the Imagination", is a visionary artist and poet and believes art must alter perception through myth, symbol, and archetype. He says, "It is far more interesting to be technically traditional and put your daring in the ideas or the depth of your feeling, or in the boundlessness of metaphor itself. Art must be transformation or it is merely interior decoration." Counsell lives in Santa Fe where he sells his art and enjoys the enchanting southwest landscape. read more
