2015 Darwin Day Celebration!

Details
February 12th is the birthday of Charles Darwin, and "Darwin Day (http://www.darwinday.org/)" is a global celebration of science and reason. This will be the 7th celebration in Saskatoon and the 5th year that the Saskatchewan Minister of Education has recognised February 12 as Darwin Day in Saskatchewan!
The Saskatoon Skeptics (http://www.saskatoonskeptics.com/) and Centre for Inquiry Saskatoon (http://centreforinquiry.ca/author/cfi-saskatoon/) are proud to host the annual Darwin Day celebration in Saskatoon on February 12 at 6:30pm.
Come and celebrate Darwin's 206th birthday with a presentation followed by a discussion. Our speaker this year is Angela R. Lieverse (http://artsandscience.usask.ca/profile/ALieverse/) (pictured below), an associate professor in the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology at University of Saskatchewan.

She is a bioarchaeologist who studies the skeletal and dental remains of ancient hunter-gatherers in order to better understand past activity, mobility, community health, and disease. Dr. Lieverse has been working in the Lake Baikal region of Siberia since the late 1990s. This presentation focuses on three unique and remarkable cases from that region in which individual causes of death have been reconstructed from ancient skeletons. As such, they provide intimate glimpses into brief moments—the days and hours before and after death—of lives lived thousands of years ago in central Siberia.
Below is a photo from Angela's work of a bashed-in skull.
