It has been very hot lately even for our hikes early mornings and this weekend might not be any different. So we are going to do this beautiful shaded hike that ends at a waterfall, it is a short hike but in a beautiful and shaded trial. This is a great hike for beginners. It will take us around 2 - 2 1/2 hours to complete.

Distance:
- Parking Entrance: 1.7 (one way)

The elevation is of 1,300 feet. It's just a really nice, easy hike alongside a babbling brook that leads you up to a really nice waterfall. Year-round springs feed the 30-foot waterfall. There are several places that you can find to rest along the way, nearly the entire hike is shady and has beautiful views. Definitely a place to go regularly to escape the hustle bustle of Hollywood and its surrounding metropolitan areas.

There's a $5 parking fee for each car. We recommend car pooling for those not living close to the park. We suggest that we all meet at the Park & Ride right off the Harvey Street exit of the 134 (also near the Holly Street exit of the 2). The lot is on the corner of Harvey and Wilson, and the entrance is on Wilson. I have one permit we can use for one car. Please let me know if you'd like to car pool, we should leave the Park & Ride around 7:10m

Once we get to the park, please park at the first parking lot at the bottom for a good intermediate hike. Please let's all try to be there a few minutes before 7:30 am so we can stretch and start the hike soon after.

If you'd like, please bring a healthy snack to share and we'll have a "picnic" at the waterfall.

This will be a great hike for those of you who will be staying home and going to bed early for fear of going out the night before because it is Friday the 13th (you know who you are).
