Bootstrap Thyself: A Collab Exercise in Creating and Working with Scala Projects

Details
The goal of this meetup is not to introduce new-comers to the Scala language, but rather to its ecosystem of tools. Specifically, we will cover the tooling for creating, building, and deploying projects. If time and interests permit, we may also go through the exercise of creating github repositories and even publishing artifacts to the world.
This will be a good opportunity for a hands-on exercise, so let's get together and form groups of 5-8 people with each group having a guide. Each group can decide a project they'd like to build or choose from a list of provided ideas. Because of time constraints, naturally, they must at least start out modestly. Each group will install the tooling (sbt and giter8), become comfortably familiar with the basics of sbt for building, testing, and deploying, and, hopefully, push the project to github.
