Second meetup - Do You know Enumeratum?
Hosted by Helsinki Scala Club
Details
Second meetup of the season.
We got to a good start on September 10th in William K. Now there are 69 of us joined in in the group, so likely 10+ people would attend?
Agenda:
- welcome, briefing on Helsinki Scala Club (10 mins)
- day's (interactive) presentation & discussions (40 mins)
- social, other stuff (30 mins)
We're practical, hands on. Prefer code to slides. Have a github project (https://github.com/akauppi/HelsinkiScalaClub) and gitter channel (https://gitter.im/akauppi/HelsinkiScalaClub).
Notes:
The date is overlapping with 2nd day of an event called Slush. I know. We won't all be attending and if we do, it's a good excuse to get out for a beer.
The location is tentative. Suggestions are welcome. I will pre-book the room once I see enough people have signed in.
Volunteering for giving a presentation is also welcome. If there aren't any, it will be on Enumeratum (https://github.com/lloydmeta/enumeratum) - an add-on library that brings enums to Scala, in an actually useful way. It's a subject good for both beginners (who wouldn't use enums) and experts alike (it's implemented using macros..).
Who should attend:
- you know to program in some language
- you don't need to know Scala, in advance
- you would be okay with people drinking beer
