From fruits to roots, flowers to shoots, berries to leafy greens, we will walk the land in Stanmer Park and discover a surprising amount of wild plants that can be used for food or medicine at different times of the year.
A perfect way to feel more connected to the land is through our stomachs!
Suitable for beginners or those with an intermediate knowledge of native plants.
We’re likely to sample a few things but largely we'll be foraging ‘on-the-hoof’, and not staying in one spot.
The cost is £15.
(RSVP essential as we need to know numbers, thanks.)
Book now to secure your place!
• Wear suitable clothing.
• Suitable for adults and children age 12 + ( if accompanied by an adult, and kids pay half price)

This walk is being led by Milly Hawkins, a qualified forest schools leader, Milly leads children and adults in deepening their own connection with nature in practical, creative and fun ways…
And one of the best ways to connect with nature is through our stomachs!
She says "My love of foraging goes back over 25 years, but over the past decade I’ve focused this knowledge, learning with ESAMP (East Sussex Archaeology and Museums Partnership), and I’ve been lucky enough to share regular wild food forays with ethno botanist Professor Gordon Hillman, who has spent much of his career exploring potential staple foods of indigenous Britain.
"Previously I worked at Greenpeace Australia where I developed a love of communicating all things ‘environmental’, and co-founded a small re-forestation charity here in the UK.
"Aside from my forest school qualification, I have a Health Science degree, a Diploma of Nutritional Therapy, and an NVQ 2 Environmental Conservation, which all give me useful background knowledge to my foraging."
