Medicine Walk & Council - walk the land to find insight & meaning for your life

Time to let the Mystery be your ally and your guide, and the land to be the container for your journey.

A Medicine Walk traditionally happens from dawn to dusk and is a preparation for an initiation ceremony.

For this full-day event, we will sit in council (talking circle) in the morning to find the thread, or the question of the moment, in order to go out to the land.

You will spend some solo time walking, wandering, listening, receiving ~ in conversation with the animate world.

You will receive guidance on self-generated ceremony and ways of staying open to the land so that it can be a mirror to your inner landscape.

You will then come back to the circle where you will be invited to share your story, in order to be met and heard, and to bring a deeper understanding to your experience.

The invitation is to come with the story that is strong in you at this time so that an authentic journey can take place.

The space that we will create together will be safe and contained, and everything and everyone is welcome.

About the Facilitator

Rebecca Card is a qualified and experienced Yoga teacher, Meditation Instructor and Somatic Movement facilitator.

Her encounters with the other-than-human world and the tracking of the soul's journey inspire her poetry writing. She has trained in the ways of Apache Scout and Shaman, Grandfather Stalking Wolf, and is involved with 8 Shields Institute (http://8shields.com) as a Village Builder in the UK and has convened and facilitated two introductory 8 Shields programs.

She has participated in a number of Animas Valley Institute (http://www.animas.org) programs both in the US and in the UK and has trained as a Wilderness Rites Guide with The School of Lost Borders (http://schooloflostborders.org/).

She works as a Guide, Facilitator and Ceremonialist of Nature-based Wisdom, Cultural Repair and Soul Initiation and holds Medicine Walks & Council at her base on Dartmoor, UK.

Rebecca believes in the power of ceremony, community and sitting in circle for deep healing and authentic connection. Her passion is in the re~membering of Wholeness and finding creative ways to explore that. Her joy is in dancing and singing and spending time nurturing deeply fulfilling friendships.
