What's your favorite sci fi genre? (space opera, hard sf, cyberpunk, etc.)

I was drawn to hard sf at a young age but have spiraled outwards, samlping most. Military, alternate, punks both cyber and steam, postapocolyptic, with a soft spot for some space opera and the occsional fantasy

Have any favorite sci fi authors or scriptwriters?

how to limit this list? Asimov, Bova, Brin, Clarke... Niven, Nolan.... Sawyer, Scalzi... Zelazny

What are your favorite sci fi movies and/or TV shows?

again trying to reign it in... movies - 2001, Moon, Forbidden Planet, Dark Star, Sky Captain, Serenity... in TV, anything Trek (thru 2005), Dr Who, Firefly, SG1, Lost, classics like UFO and 1999, Blake's 7.... and yet still so much unwatched.

Star Trek or Star Wars?

oh, Trek, not a moment's thought. Wars is fine, but...
