1 (831)[masked]Monterey Bay that is... For all of you who have been asking to dive Monterey... Here is your opportunity.
We will be doing a morning dive from on board the dive boat "MONTEREY EXPRESS".
SCUBA World Sacramento has chartered the whole boat!
This boat holds 20 divers and crew and goes out daily, (weather permitting) to the best spots in the Bay. Two, steel 80, standard "K" valve tanks are provided. Other than tanks, you must bring all of your own or your rental gear, including weights.
Snacks and hot beverages are included. The cost for the DIVE BOAT ONLY is $90.00
and you must go into SCUBA World Sacramento to pay and secure your spot. Hurry, because once this e-mail goes out, the 18 spots remaining will go fast. SCUBA World Sacramento
The plan is to drive down on Saturday afternoon, Oct 16th, and stay at the Travelodge on Fremont. If you prefer another hotel, there is no problem as lodging, reservations are on your own. The Travelodge is located at 2030 N. Fremont Street
, Monterey, CA 93940. The direct number for reservations is 1 (831)[masked]
. Maps to Monterey and the Travelodge are available at SCUBA World Sacramento. Cost is around $89.00 for a double.
Anyone who wants to do a night dive on Saturday night should begin a discussion on this meet-up page and insure that you have buddies going with you.
For all of those hard core divers who want more diving; feel free to go down Friday night, Oct 15th, and dive all day Saturday. Just start a discussion here to see who else wants to go down early.
There will also be divers who will be down there with their zodiacs. If you plan to bring your boats and are open to more divers, please post your invitations on this meetup page.
FYI: The Monterey Express leaves from "K" dock which sits between the Harbour Master's office, just off Delmonte Ave, between wharf's 1 and 2.
There is plenty of parking just adjacent to "K" dock. You should partially suit up prior to boarding and you should have your waivers filled out in advance for faster loading time. Waivers can be downloaded at Monterey Express Waiver
For FAQ's about the Monterey Express Dive boat, you can go to Monterey Express FAQ's
If any of these links do not work, you can contact Jane directly through the site or call SCUBA World at 1 (916) 332-8294.
Gratuity for the Monterey Express Crew is not included in the price but is much appreciated! Monterey Express Dive Masters do NOT dive with you and level of expertise needed at their anchoring sites, rarely exceeds Intermediate. It's best to have your buddies prior to your trip. If you are going, a "YES" RSVP is required, but the RSVP does not hold your spot until you are paid at SCUBA WORLD. There will be a waiting list! =)
Monterey bay is BEAUTIFUL in October. I can't wait. Book now before the boat is full.
Now let's go make bubbles! See you in Monterey!
