Diver Safety Event: Drop by on your way to the water!
Details
This is a short, very-doable event we all can benefit from. Join us for our regularly scheduled Saturday morning dive (event page is on our calendar) and stop by the nearby tents to talk to these pros for a few minutes before (or after) you go in the water... or just stop by for a few minutes.

Let's all show unity and make a collective statement about how we, as a community, are dedicated to safety and less accidents in our beloved sport.
From Jay Duchnick:
Next Saturday (Oct 25) myself and a few of the others who participate in reviewing diving accidents, in concert with the Medical Examiner’s Office, will be at Kellogg Park handing out information on diver safety. All of the information is directly related to the contributing factors of local diver fatalities experienced over the last few years. We will have posters and safety brochures, as well as a limited amount of free t-shirts printed with the signage we have proposed be posted at popular dive sites reminding divers of key safety points.
Participants include staff from:
• UCSD's Hyperbaric Medicine Center
• SIO's dive locker
• SDSU's diving program
• USCG Marine Safety Office
• Possibly someone from SDLGs
The time will be from 8-12 and we plan on setting up in the vicinity of the usual dive groups / classes. If you would like to put the information out to your user list I would appreciate it.
Many thanks,
